Learning Thai Empty

Hello every one!

Base on Zhiris idea opening topic Study Thai with TLOS, I take courage
to be the first person making the idea become true (hope for second or
third person tooLearning Thai 21.

As you can see, the first sentence people usually say when they meet is
greeting sentence. Let's image when Pchy has a TLOS party for TLOS
fanclub in our country, He'll say hello in English and we'll say
greeting sentence in Thai language, he will surpriseLearning Thai 8

Ok, let's start now.

To say hello, we say:

sa-wat-dee khrap (for male)

sa-wat-dee kha (for female)

After that you bring both hands together and bow your head a little bit
(just slightly). The level of two hands depends on the person you say
hello to

There are three levels:

To a person equal in age and status or younger and lower status than you: you put two hands in front of your chest

To a person is older or higer status: put two hands in front of your chin. Like Mew does in this picture.

Learning Thai Sawatdee

To the King or monks: put two hands in front of your forehead.

In TLOS, there are many greeting scenes. First of all, when August Band
sees June the first time. Secondly, when Mew meet Tong the first time
after five year being far away together, The August Band bow and say
sawatdee kharp to Tong. And at the party for June too.

We could see every one in TLOS put their hand in front of their chins, that is polite way.

Numer

The second thing that I think easy to learn is number. I am quite
stupid so it take me more than one month to remember and use them
corectly. I hope that you guys will be betterLearning Thai 1

Let's raise one question. Is it usefull for us when we talk with Thai
people? Actually yes. We could use for our age, telephone number, or
number of thing (in general).

To study step by step, we just mention number 0 to 10.

ศูนย์ - soon - zero

หนึ่ง - nueng - one

สอง - song - two

สาม - saam - three

สี่ - see - four

ห้า - haa - five

หก - hok - six

เจ็ด - jet - seven

แปด - bpet - eight

เก้า - gao - nine

สิบ - sip - ten

People usually learning how to count from 1 to 10, I learn number zero from TLOSLearning Thai 4

Nueng song saam are easy to remember. How about the other?Learning Thai 7
My learning experience is making relations with other things.
For example:

Number nine is gao. It means rice in Vietnamese. When we talk about
rice, Vietnamese usually think about Mekong delta (it has 9 branches)Learning Thai 21. So gao is 9, easy isn't it
gao ===> rice ===> Mekong delta ===> 9 branches at lower section area ===> 9

sip - ten, let's think about ship with the sail (the sail looks like 1 0)

Back to TLOS, could you write down Tong's cell phone number?

He said: soon bpet saam gao soon nueng bpet saam song soon

While he said nueng, Aex called Mew, so we can hear clearly.

I hope that you enjoy and pratice successfullyLearning Thai 1

To ask "how old are you in Thai", you could say:

Koon aa yoo thao rai

Koon means you (we knew before)

aa yoo means age

thao rai means how much or how many.

And about saying twenty?

That is: yee sip (eleven and twenty have different rule with other, I will talk about that later)
